FIXING
Thanks to the raw materials used and the new productive technologies applied, Sichenia's porcelain tiles are able to imitate the random appearance of natural stone. The cromatic color variation is a feature of great value for a tile installer who wishes to create a unique floor. To enhance the product and fixing, we recommend to carry out the following operations:
- check accurately the caliber of different size tiles and their shades; set out on the floor few cartons of material in order to verify the layout; fix by using tiles from different cartons;
- do not immerse in water the tile before fixing it;
- tap the fix tile in order to eliminate all air bubble from the mortar;
- do not mark the tile with felt-tipped pen;
- when finish fixing, clean accurately the floor surface with water and an acid-based detergent to remove any grout joint residuals.
GROUTING
Grout the floor 24/48 hours after fixing it, the grout joint has to be clean thoroughly. grout small surface at a time (approx. 4 to 5 square meter) and rinse it accurately with water. A tone on tone putty are recommended.
JOINTS
Floors: For floor tiles laid with a combination of different rectified sizes, a 2 mm joint is necessary. For layouts with a combination of non-rectified rustic materials, a 4 mm joint is necessary.
Walls: For wall coverings laid using a rectified product, a 2 mm joint is necessary.
Straight forward design: In layouts of the so-called "straight forward installation" type with rectangular shapes, a 3 mm joint is necessary. This also requires special attention in combining and levelling the single pieces so as to reduce the differences in flatness that may be present.
